Prison Ministry Outreach

We are looking for men to join us in our prison ministry outreach at Walker State Prison in Rock Spring, Georgia. We have a few men already involved as mentors to specific men in the prison, but there is a need for more Catholic mentors. Can you make a commitment to visit one of the men at WSP twice each month? You may travel back and forth from the prison through carpool with our mentors and with other local men who serve as mentors.  If interested, you may contact Father Mark (706-841-1836) or Mr. Dick Crotteau ( 423-505-4602).

Hope House

On Sunday, June 2, Auxiliary Bishop of Atlanta, Bishop John Tran, will celebrate both the 9:00 A.M. Mass at OLM and the 11:30 A.M. Mass at SKD. He will then go to Hope House for a blessing of the work our churches have funded. Although the space is now occupied, there is still some work that must be done, and funds are still needed. Hot Meals Ministry 

Hot Meals Ministry is always in need of more volunteers to help prepare “home-cooked” meals to area tent community residents every Monday. Pease consider signing up on HERE for a slot anytime from 1:00 P.M. – 3:30 P.M. on Mondays, or you can show up at Shuler Hall to see what it’s all about and assist as needed. Upcoming Art Exhibit

Our Lady of the Mount parishioner Steve Golder will have an exhibition of Van Dyke Brown process photo images showing at the River Gallery in Chattanooga March 8 through April 30, with opening reception on Friday, March 8 from 5:30-7:00 P.M. Our Catholic faith is prominent in many of the images, with several capturing scenes from the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul.

Online Giving Users

Beginning January 1, Online Giving users need to log into their account at olmcc.com, and update your giving for 2024. Please select the new fund, Offertory 2024. If you need assistance updating your contributions for 2024 or establishing a new Online Giving account, please contact amackey@olmcc.com. Fr. Mark asks that we prayerfully consider a 10% increase in our 2024 Offertory contributions.

Items Needed for Tent Communities

Hot Meals Ministry is now collecting these items for the people in the tent communities: travel-size hygiene items/toiletries, body wipes, new socks, and underwear in various sizes for men and women, and large garbage bags. Any of these items may be left in the blue container in the church narthex.
